- Nursie 4y agoThis is effectively a meme for bank-haters now. A scare factoid. Firstly, it's not the whole picture - https://www.federalreserve.gov/supervisionreg/large-bank-capital-requirements.htm https://www.federalreserve.gov/supervisionreg/large-bank-cap... Secondly, if you dig a little deeper into the page you linked, you'll see it's because the system has changed around the banks and those specific requirements (to keep an account centrally, with the federal reserve, for a certain amount) are no longer considered useful. I don't consider myself an expert on this, but waving this link around as if it means something, absent any context, is not particularly informative.
