Not the OP, but for my prior relationship my ex wanted to be divested of that knowledge. I tried early on to keep them abreast of what was going on, but they were "not a numbers person," and whenever I tried to explain our complicated financial structures and how assets were liquidated and passed through various accounts to accomplish large projects their eyes glazed over. So, they trusted me to keep us solvent, and I made just about any request of theirs happen (which sometimes required a lot of juggling). All relationships are different. :)
