Generally what I find is that the bean burgers that are vegan, are just if not more tasty. While the fake burgers try this weird meat taste that doesn’t come close to beef texture. Both bean and meat burgers need to be prepared fresh for optimal taste. It’s like fresh burgers are like the 10x of frozen/pre made burgers. While choosing burgers among the pre-made will always be marginal in gains.

I think you're right that a bean burger is more tasty than the processed beef texture burgers -- but neither are anywhere near as good as actual beef. You know what's really good, though? Fake chicken patties. And it's been good for decades. I really wonder what the fixation is on beef patties, when there are other types of much more easily replaceable meat. I also wish we would see more creative partial substitutes. Bean and beef patties? Sign me up.

I have been a vegetarian the past few years and can absolutely not relate. Bean patties at majority of restaurants are dry, I can’t even remember a good bean burger I got.

I’ve had a few enjoyable bean burgers, but they’ve always been very messy completely squeezing out of the bun. Very annoying.
