Seeing PEEK and POKE two pages into the article made me laugh. I always treated those like black magic, mysterious lines that I got out of a magazine that did cool stuff. I loved the Simons Basic cartridge, that gave me a lot of the PEEK/POKE power wrapped up in new Basic keywords. Sprites were so cool!
