I still write static sites which are hand-coded in HTML and CSS augmented by a (very little) javascript. They're quick to build and easy to deploy and, for some clients, they're all that's needed. I've used frameworks for twelve years, and covered most of them across various projects. I particularly like the direction of recent frameworks like Svelte and Vue3.
