Wouldnt this require collecting (and maintaining) an enormous database of local retailers and their stock? Including duplicates. That seems... non-trivial.

- mustyoshi 4y agoIf you built the foundation of the extension, I don't see why B&M stores wouldn't work with you to enable this. Seems like a huge win for them.
- bluGill 4y agoNo, it is a large loss. They want you to come in thinking maybe you have X, then buy something else while you are there.
- SamBam 4y agoThat can still happen when you go in to make your purchase. My understanding was that this plugin would merely show you that it was available at the store. In any case, any sale that wasn't lost to Amazon is still a win for these stores.
- bluGill 4y agoBut it won't happen when you don't go into the store at all.
- mvineetmenon 4y agoNot if the local retailers can themselves expose their products in an API.
- Freeboots 4y agoYou'd still be hitting tens of millions of apis to get their stock lists. In varying formats.
