    For clarity, my suggestion was merely in contrast to the linked article's rekeying approach, I didn't mean to vouch for any consumer lock being able to withstand the LockpickingLawyer :-) I'm firmly in the camp of "locks are to keep honest people out," and/or so my insurance company doesn't laugh if I'm broken into

      So long as he has to get the lock picks out I consider it good to go. If the lock opens with one of his other tricks - I know to stay away.

    Locks by and large are intended to keep petty criminals that do things like drill and smash doors or check if doors are unlocked from breaking into your house. Sure, this lock isn't the most amazing security, but almost ALL consumer grades locks in homes today are this bad or much worse, in many cases (looking at you, Defiant...). Also, if you're worried about criminals picking your lock, they're significantly more sophisticated than most criminals. In addition, it requires a special tool beyond just standard picks to get in (a thin, long shim), which limits your attack surface a bit.
