This is quite a thorough article by TechCrunch about the podcast app Snipd, and how they use AI to try to recommend you the best highlights in podcasts and let you save interesting moments with transcript.

The "highlights reel" mentioned in the article is an interesting way to consume podcast content as many podcast are super long. Could see it as a way quickly go through the most important parts when there isn't much time or on the go.

Interesting way to get to the good parts of a podcast episode with the AI-generated highlights. Hopefully, these highlights will help me get through the very, very, way too many podcasts I'm subscribed to.

Snipd is really really good. I always hated how hard was to use podcasts for learning because how ephemeral they seem: - It's cumbersome to take notes because I mainly don't have my hands free when listening or I don't want to type on my phone - It's difficult to keep track of what I've listened to and revisit good episodes Snipd solves both of those issues for me: - The audio snippets are great for automatically creating custom transcripts of the podcast highlights - The History and Favorite lists and the weekly email digest prevent me from just forgetting about an episode after listening to it

Fantastic idea that solves one of my pains. I usually take notes and write timestamps myself, but Snipd solves that. Smart!
