WSL2 with GUI is heaven sent. I like to add the following comment to this whole win/linux/Mac debate. Windows 10/11 I use 11. The driver support is stellar.

WSL2 with GUI is heaven sent. I like to add the following comment to this whole win/linux/Mac debate.
Windows 10/11 I use 11. The driver support is stellar. Network, Video, Cuda, USB support.. Mouse, Monitor... all of it is highly supported and ready.
Sometimes with native linux you missing out on the best drivers.
Besides, middle of day of prod hell, you want to go take a break. Load up MSFS2020, put your VR headset on, and enjoy Mt Fuji or grand cannon in a FA18.....
- openplatypus 4y agoWSL2 is still PITA with Yubikey. Can't wait for "native" support of whole USB stack. And I like stronger separation of VMWare and having multiple ready made, backed up environments.
- trinovantes 4y agoThe only downside is the Win11 taskbar It's been a huge productivity loss trying to switch to a different window of the same program
