+1 for Riichi mahjong. My favorite one. On the other hand when I tell to asian people that I play mahjong some of them are hmm looking me at like some lunatic because they instantly think about gambling. Like "hey that's a gambler's game you shouldn't play that" etc. But I never did purely picked up as a board game and I love it.
