Meetups at big companies in the bay area usually have their cafeteria made food (more made from scratch than prepared I would say). Meetups at startups will usually be from swanky delivery places too. I used to go for part technical content, part socializing, and part just to get out there. Decent food helped, but it turns out getting in late isn't as tolerable anymore.
