I have a synology NAS specifically to backup my google workspace.

  How does this work? Is it just backing up your Google drive or also things like docs and email?

    You can use Google Takeout to receive a zip in an email of all your data, including drive, email, and seemingly everything else. You can even schedule it to send a new backup once every 2 months for a year, then just remember to renew the schedule every year. I have my Gmail mirror to a local mail server which sort of becomes my "backup". https://takeout.google.com/ https://takeout.google.com/

      I saw that you could schedule takeouts every two months. Is there a practical way to use that for restoration?
