My private laptops are around 1000 to 1500. But I also have my desktop PC. My company laptop is 3k$ and I actually carry that around more often. True I care less about it but I still don't feel like I'm dropping devices while I'm moving. I dropt my Thinkpad primarily at home when it was sitting next to the couch :')
