Joe Rogan has completely disrupted the legacy media
- skinnymuch 5y agoThe statistics are inconsistent and not comparable. Spotify is global. Nielsen is the US and only for watching on your TV. Not sure if it’s for watching literally on your TV or also includes watching via your cable tv app on smart tv or mobile devices. If major clips of any of those channels/shows get millions of views on YouTube every episode, that is not counted. Same if any of this stuff have their own podcasts.
- ImpressiveWebs 5y ago> If major clips of any of those channels/shows get millions of views on YouTube every episode, that is not counted. But that’s also true of Rogan. His show’s clips get way more views than those other networks.
- thrashh 5y agoSure but it’s not reflected in this chart at all. This chart is worthless. It takes two unequal measures and puts them on the same chart to suggest a narrative. Not to mention that the list of shows that you find on this the chart is akin to the magazines that you find by the grocery checkout anyway. They’re entertainment shows. I might listen to Joe Rogan once in a while but it’s like putting on a sitcom.

- nabla9 5y agoPeople don't want to be informed. They want to be entertained.
- nomorecommas 5y agoThat's probably why they tune in to Rogan.
- errantmind 5y agoOr, perhaps, they want both
- hnburnsy 5y agoI am a fan of the long form interview talking to the guests for 2-3 hours versus what seems like 3-4 minutes on CNN\FOX\MSNBC\CNBC. Also the variety of guests and the diversity of their backgrounds keeps me entertained. Any suggestions on a Joe Rogan alternatives? Already listening to Lex Fridman.
- verdverm 5y agoNot necessarily interviews, but The Good Fellows have interesting and nuanced discussions between an economist, historian, and a former general.
- hnburnsy 5y agoThank you will check it out.
- skinnymuch 5y agoRogan guests aren’t as diverse as the general hype for his podcast indicates. The number of right leaning guests is so much more than left leaning guests. Unless things have changed, even far right guests are equal to or more than left guests. This is only a portion of Rogan guests of course. Not all are political, in any way. Though guests like MMA ones don’t have much to do with CNN/FOX/MANBC/CNN since that’s not something they really cover.
