What really helps: 1) Watch movies in English 2) Move abroad, at least for a while 3) If (2) is out of the question, find English-speaking friends and hang out with them as much as possible Lectures in school, especially when given by non-native teachers, are inferior in terms of costs/benefits when not counterproductive.
