- pitched 5y agoI really wish I could understand this better because it seems important. If I have this straight, BDNF is a thing that makes neurons grow and trk is a thing that tells the neurons they have enough fuel (cholesterol) to grow. So SSRIs are promoting neuron growth to beat depression by tricking it into thinking it has enough fuel to grow, when there probably actually isn’t?
