A board member once gave me advice ahead of my first major acquisition meeting with the CEO of a mega corp.
“You’re meeting the CEO. No matter what you talk about - Never, ever, ever discuss price with the CEO. You both have people who will do that for you.”
- weeblewobble 5y agoYeah I've never been anywhere near M&A but that was my takeaway too. Steve blessed the acquisition, that's all you need from him. Seems like this guy would have been much better off keeping his mouth shut and letting the negotiations play out slowly. Truly a story of a social faux pas with huge consequences.
