The booster going around now are the same as the first shot, they are the same effectiveness (which is still very high) against the Delta variant. After 6 to 8 months, neutralizing antibodies wane so this ups them again. The multivalent booster shots are still in clinical trials.
- fullstop 5y agoRight. I had read that it was still effective, but less effective than it was against the alpha variant. Effective enough that it did not justify reworking the vaccines to specifically target it. I feel like we are on the verge of giant leaps in medical possibilities, similar to the discovery of penicillin.
