I'd recommend just using the browser to make an alt.
- ashes-of-sol 5y agoThis is how I setup an account for the public facing discord at work, I just use the web client in a Firefox container.
- PenguinCoder 5y agoToo much friction for some tasks. Forums and their features/flaws are better than Discord for some things.
- qualudeheart 5y agoElsewhere in this thread I’ve claimed people should use the web app with a password manager. Sometimes you’ll get a “new login detected” thing and be asked to authenticate your current ip address via email. That can be a headache when switching accounts but you can easily just use an email client which supports multiple email addresses without having to manually log in and out again.
- bgro 5y agoSome servers I'm in has notifications when you join, and then if you ever leave it also has a passive aggressive notification like "OK BYE I guess!!" Mods in smaller communities frequently greet everyone. If you pop in to check something then leave, you might as well @everyone that they're not good enough for you so you're out. That said, Threads seem like they could have some functionality in some technical discords.
