I agree. This is quite grim. And I do think that we will repulse the takeover. The Constitution is more durable than most will give it credit for. But as you say, the result will only be temporary. But that's the nature of freedom isn't it? It must be constantly fought for. We grew complacent with our Starbucks and televised competitive sporting events, blockbuster movies and a feelings-based economy. I believe the long term strategy would be to get to the root of the problem: insanity, irrationality and cowardice. If we can bring our children up to be rational, compassionate and logical, and to create a failsafe system to correct irrationality we will go a LOT further and this world would be a better place!
