Screw carbon credits. Countries should be given credits based on the number of (non-human) apex predators in the wild within their borders and any carbon-intensive/polluting economic activity should have to be offset against these very expensive credits.
- slibhb 5y agoWho is going to give countries "credits"? The UN? The US? God?
- t0rt01se 5y agoThe credits get mined based on proof of existence and then can be traded. 'Given' was the wrong choice of word.
- alexilliamson 5y agoIs this a serious question? The Lion subsidies can only come from one place (God)
- FooBarBizBazz 5y agoIt's be cool if there were some distributed game-theoretic equilibrium that could be arrived at without a "central bank" issuing credits.

- t0rt01se 5y agoMore cobras in the wild! Result! As as aside, you'll find a cobra isn't an apex predator - a King Cobra ... now that could be considered. Every incentive humans have ever dreamed up has had perverse/unintended outcomes - what's your point?
