Lumber Prices Are Falling Fast, Turning Hoarders into Sellers
- floppytaco 5y agoHow many 2x4s per hour do you get paid?
- kumarvvr 5y agoAnd those initial buyers need to swallow their pride and losses. Seems everything is a 'hustle' now. Lumber prices are increasing, go to the local hardware store and hoard up. Hold and sell for higher prices. Such a sorry state. I blame social media for this. Young impressionable minds are being spoil by the myriad of videos showing a young fit youtuber / instagrammer promising millions by doing X Y Z. The first X always is to pay them money. And you have a large number of young gens who are always looking out for 'deals'. Even the startup sector has come to this point. That the target of a startup is to get acquired, is appalling in itself. Such a waste and loss to society.
- missedthecue 5y agoPanic buying and hoarding behaviors are literally as old as markets themselves. This is not a recent phenomenon.
- kumarvvr 5y agoYou would panic buy when you expect a need in the immediate future. Such as when you are building a house or want to stock for your store. That is as old as ever. Sure. However, in the past 5 - 6 years, there are a lot more incidents of people hoarding up to resell. I mean, there are people who make entire careers off of drop shipping. I understand the value in trade. You buy stuff in wholesale and sell in retail. You are adding value. What these hoarders are doing, is that really value addition?
