Tesla suspends Bitcoin car sales over environmental impact
- koolba 5y agoIs it the environment? Or is it to make room to accept doge: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1392030108274159619 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1392030108274159619
- that_guy_iain 5y agoWhy not both?
- koolba 5y agoCurrency risk for one. Though that could be mitigated through increased prices to pass on the costs to someone else.
- theo-born 5y agoWell, there goes Tesla's Dogecoin adoption as well. Proof-of-Work is here to stay for both of those cryptos.
- headmelted 5y agoGoing by this.. https://mobile.twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1392030108274159619 https://mobile.twitter.com/elonmusk/status/13920301082741596... .. one could be forgiven for thinking that Tesla might have bought a lot of Dogecoin in the last quarter. I guess it’s not manipulation if the market isn’t regulated? but thats none of my business

- brianhorakh 5y agoBrilliant. Eth proof of stake, or chia proof of space should both qualify.
- sascha_sl 5y agoProof of stake has the typical issue of people with capital getting even more capital. Chia is threatening to expand the global chip shortage to both SSD and HDD devices and it needs to go away.

- coliveira 5y agoSo Musk didn't know about the environmental impacts before? There's no way to trust someone who can't even research for 5 minutes before making this kind of decision...
- croes 5y agoHe knew exactly. Tesla needs new sorts of income, if the sale of carbon dioxide certificates doesn't generate enough profit.
