- gagege 6y agoI agree. Something I've begun to notice this year with the pandemic panic is that religion is everywhere. It may not be called religion by most people, but it has all the marks, devotion ("follow the science/experts", "it's just a mask"), high-priests (Fauci, Gates), cleanliness rituals, evangelism (posters, billboards, in every city and on most businesses).
- powerslacker 6y agoIt's meant to be humorous, but it is not parody. You taking offense gives credence to the author's argument.
- jhardy54 6y agoTaking offense? No. But "you should social distance and/or wear a mask when outdoors" is not equivalent to religious zealots attacking people because of their bigotry. Oof.
- analog31 6y agoEvery opinion, vehemently held by more than one person, can be framed as a religion. It's a form of ad hominem fallacy.
