I'm a heavy user with Anki, and I get a lot of value out of it.
Yet I never actually recommended it to anyone, because it's basically unusable unless you're willing to tinker a lot, and put up with its very unintuitive UI.
I've had a look at your app, and it looks like a way more complicated version of Anki. I think that will put off many people from even trying it out
- SunghoYahng 6y agoThe reaction when this app was first released was that this was so complicated. But I have been trying to mitigate it all the best... I would appreciate it if you can give me a feedback after trying it out.
- randomchars 6y agoI have 10k+ cards, and 100k+ reviews, and I've used Anki for years. It's a professional tool, and while I hate basically every part of it, it's reliable, and doesn't do unexpected things. I'm not willing to bet on a tool, that's pushing an unskippable bunny in a suit to my face that's animating with 10FPS. You're clearly onto something: Roam and new PKM tools are more popular than ever, Remnote is even hiring people. You just need to figure out how to present your workflow ideas.
- SunghoYahng 6y agoI see. I am sorry that you are not willing to try new tool while you hate the old thing.
- randomchars 6y agoI try lot's of new tools: Remnote, Mochi cards, different srs plugins for Roam and Obsidian. I tried to check out LearnObit as well, but a rabbit, seriously?
- SunghoYahng 6y agoIs that the fault of the app? The rabbit does nothing wrong. However, I am confident in the usability and functionality of LearnObit. Perhaps the most similar to LO is RemNote, but more than that, more than any other app.
- randomchars 6y ago> Is that the fault of the app? The rabbit does nothing wrong Look, you're free to put whatever in your app. If that's a one minute long 10fps animation of a rabbit in a suit, with a Coelho quote, all the more power to you, but I need you to understand, that makes it hard to take it seriously.
- SunghoYahng 6y agoI understand that the rabbit looks like that way to some people. It is a way to grab attention in the internet world where being ignored is the default... But confidence in the functionality and innovation of this app is still.
