The article discusses whether fairness is a biological trait that primates/humans are born with. It uses a video in which we see a research experiment on primates as ammunition for this hypothesis. But all I see in the video is a monkey who protests when she's getting paid less, and another monkey who happily accepts that she's getting paid more than the other. So the "rich" monkey is okay with the situation being unfair. The hypothesis basically dies there, but the author needs many more paragraphs to eventually arrive at the same conclusion. The Golden Rule exists because we've known for thousands of years that humans (and primates too, for that matter) find it extremely hard to do the right thing unless they've very explicitly learned that they have to.
