It's also for longer term buy and hold investors. there's a very real demand for investments that will hold their value against inflation. can you name a single asset class that will do that, other than equities or gold? real estate is out of the question because the overhead of buying and selling it is to expensive, not to mention it's so hard to execute that you'd loose your shirt if you dont know what your doing.
