They aren't being squeezed out of the debate. They simply leave those platforms and move to alternative platforms instead. I'm personally a conservative myself and have left twitter for parler and gab instead. Many are doing the same. There are also a lot of other communities as well.
- MiguelHudnandez 6y agoWouldn't the audience self-selecting based on political alignment limit the discourse to a few predictable takes for any given issue? Did many leftists and centrists go to parler? (The same limitations will likely occur at the original platforms as populations leave)
- bbeesley 6y agoI opened a parler account to see what it’s like. Everything suggested to me was right wing pseudo news sites and pundits along with republican lawmakers. Aside from a small amount of gaming content I couldn’t find anything vaguely interesting.
