Ask HN: Ethical and privacy focused companies?
I'm hunting around a little for some companies focused on ethical and privacy preserving applications / systems.
The obvious ones that spring to mind are Mozilla, DuckDuckGo and ProtonMail, but does HN have any other examples?
- hans_castorp 6y agoQwant and Ecosia for search engines come to mind. Threema and Signal for messengers.
- alexh1 6y agoInteresting, I was just looking at Qwant this morning. They seem different to other search engines in that they actually have their own index rather than just proxying to another engine (e.g. Bing)
- ColinHayhurst 6y agoMojeek is the only horiziontal search engine with it's own crawler/index and which does not track you.
