What if Twitter, Roam, and del.icio.us had a baby? It'd look like this
- core-questions 6y ago> Sign in with your Google account (we will support other logins later). C'mon, this is a nonstarter for a huge chunk of your potential user base. Get your own logins sorted out.
- octostone 6y agoCongrats on launching. I checked out your landing page, but I still don’t know exactly what your product is or what it’s for. Defining it in terms of other services doesn’t give me a clear picture of what it is or compel me to use it. Showing some use cases or examples might help. (The google sign in is also a dealbreaker for me, but I’m still curious as to what this is.)
- chikaio 6y agoGood point. Will work on including some screenshots and better explanation of what it does, plus add more login options. It's still a work in progress, so lots to improve upon. It may have been a bit early to post on HN, but I like the honest feedback so far.
- oa335 6y agoI suggest having a “front page”, something akin to Reddit.com/r/all, so I can get an idea of what the community as a whole thinks is a good note etc
- chikaio 6y agoI like that idea. I do need to improve the whole onboarding process.
- lemper 6y agoi can't even login. firebase and google auth are not working.
- chikaio 6y agoHmmm, another person mentioned this also. I'll speed up work on providing other ways of logging in.
- andykx 6y agoCool concept, well done. Visually appealing for sure. A few things: First, I don’t think that your users’ first exposure to your product should be a comparison to other products. As another user mentioned, I don’t really have an idea of what the site is. I think the comparisons to other products might provide a clearer picture to you since (I’m guessing) those were your initial thoughts about the direction of the project. To others, however, the comparisons seem kind of convoluted. Also, as yet another user mentioned, I would prefer a different authentication option.
- chikaio 6y agoBoth of those sentiments make sense and as you mentioned they are echoed by others. I do appreciate the honesty. I'll hopefully have different authentication options in the next day or so.
- johnjungles 6y agoCool idea, A possible growth hack is to get some interesting content loaded. Possibly follow Twitter accounts or Reddit subs, or something. Also agreed, need a front page where I can see other interesting content
- chikaio 6y agoGood suggestion. I was thinking of putting in an RSS feed feature that would allow you to easily bring in new content, but I do want to make sure to encourage people to write down their thoughts about it too.
- chikaio 6y agoPer several people's request, just added in an email login. Please try it out and let me know if you run into any issues. Also many thanks to all of you who tried out Nano Page. I'm a bit surprised at how strong the response was to the product!
