AWS IAM is having issues again

- sushshshsh 6y agoNobody got fired for buying AWS! I would be axed in two seconds if my home grown, self hosted IAM solution crashed for 2 minutes
- renewiltord 6y agoPresumably the problems you are solving are different from the problems that are being solved with this thing. I have never worked at a place where I'd be fired for downtime (even customer-visible downtime) of two minutes. I don't think I ever will.
- sushshshsh 6y agoHehe. It's a good management team you have there then :) My current shop is as political as can be-- flush with money but still cutthroat as ever
- marta_morena_25 6y agoLOL, your whole sentence is absurd. First of all, you have apparently no idea what IAM is or what it does, otherwise you would never say something like "home grown, self hosted IAM solution". Second, putting "home grown, self hosted" together with "being axed if its down for 2 minutes" is very telling about your work environment. Actually, if it doesn't crash for 2 minutes, you were simply lucky. If you want to depend on luck for your job security, more power to you. But anyway, none of what you said makes any sense and isn't helpful to anyone here.
