It all seems pretty pointless when every tracker tracks you by IP address and the only real way to defeat this is to use Tor, which BTW is blocked on an ever-growing list of sites.
- anonymousDan 6y agoHmm, is there anyway to configure tor to reduce the number of hops in order to improve performance? It seems like multihop Tor is overkill for this use case. Wouldn't solve the problem with sites blocking Tor I guess.
- M2Ys4U 6y agoIP is a much coarser level of tracking, for most people. GCNAT, roaming (WiFi <-> mobile), shared networks (NAT/IPv6 Privacy Addresses). All of these things mean you can't be sure you're tracking the _same_ person, unlike with cookies.
