Call me biased [1] but K8s will take over the world! Yes you get containers and micro-services and all that good stuff, but now with Anthos [2] its also the best way to achieve multi-cloud and hybrid architectures. What's not to like!
1. I work for GCP
2. https://cloud.google.com/anthos/gke https://cloud.google.com/anthos/gke
- spyspy 6y agoIs there any benefit of Anthos over deploying straight to GKE if you're already bought into GCP? We've had this debate several times recently and can't come up with a good answer.
- shakil 6y agoIf you are bought in to GCP and plan to stay there, then maybe not much. OTOH, Anthos would allow you to do easier migrations from on-prem, support hybrid workloads, or consolidate multi-cloud clusters including those running on say, AWS [1] if you like. 1. https://cloud.google.com/blog/topics/anthos/multi-cloud-features-make-anthos-on-aws-possible https://cloud.google.com/blog/topics/anthos/multi-cloud-feat...
- verdverm 6y agoAnthos let's you let Google run Kubernetes for you in any cloud and on prem. The live VMWare migration to Anthos is also quite impressive too
- gobins 6y agoYou get gitops style config management of your clusters with Anthos.
