It was withdrawn from my PayPal balance. At no point was a credit card involved with AirBnb or PayPal.
PayPal does not allow me to dispute the four individual transactions which added up to over $500, they only let me dispute the original billing
agreement with AirBnb which was essentially “you agree to let AirBnb take however much money from your balance they want, whenever they want, forever, because they totes won’t abuse this feature to rob you someday months later out of the blue.” Which they did.
- lonelappde 6y agoIf they did that on purpose at scale, as opposed to billing the wrong customer for an order, I promise that it won't save them. That's a slam dunk FTC/class action settlement. Anyway, seems like your real problem is leaving your money with PayPal to give away to however they see fit, instead of using a legitimate bank with credit/debit card protections.
