Put another way- what this forum should be is a place where news is discussed and people provide encouragement and help to other founders. People here should be judged on how they help others, and the reasons they give for their advice. What this has become-- since you have clearly stated that you judge applications based on how people act here-- is an ideological garden where people are judged based on how closely it is percieved that their statements are in line with the Party Line. For instance, there are many ways you can fund a startup- credit cards or house equity being two that are more viable now that you don't need to raise millions. But because its percieved by your fans that "Venture Capital" is the only way to go, any suggestions to the contrary are met with derision. This is ironic given that you yourself have argued for venture capital being less important now days. So, even your ideas are considered "trolling" in this forum ... because ideological purity is a good that you have put forth explicitly.
