Being born brown, I'm thankful for my white names that get me into interviews where I can prove I'm a good developer.

- roberson87 7y agoSome of my non-white friends who haven't been blessed with forward-thinking parents such as yours, who give their children civilized names nonetheless use Western names on their resume when job seeking. So I don't think having a government 'white name' is all the beneficiary for job seeking purposes.
- throwaway010718 7y agoSame here, legally changed my name at 10 years of age knowing that a whiter name would give me a better shot in life. One of the best decisions I made.
