If you think I'm being harsh, picture this - what if a man made a fedora out of the profile pictures of all the women that had rejected him on tinder? Same principle really.
- ahbyb 7y ago>what if a man made a fedora out of the profile pictures of all the women that had rejected him on tinder? He'd break his neck.
- lacampbell 7y agoIt's so refreshing to hear a joke on hacker news. Of course it's from a burner account (muh internet points), and down-voted. Says it all really.
- chrisseaton 7y ago> The best response is to accept it, assess whether it warrants an adaption, and move on. I think the point of this piece of performance art may just be the very same message as yours...
- 3JPLW 7y agoDid you read the article? She wore the skirt as she defended her thesis. FTA: > She defended her Ph.D. dissertation in the handcrafted regalia, not in spite, but to show that rejection is a natural part of the process in achieving goals.
- lacampbell 7y agoI did, and I think she doth protest too much. Again, picture the picture-fedora. What if the dude told you "it's just a natural part of the process of achieving goals" ? Would you think to yourself "wow there's a well rounded individual who handled that well"? Or would you think he was a fucking weirdo?
- 3JPLW 7y agoWhy do you think your analogy is at all comparable?
- lacampbell 7y agoListen, I'll make a reply to you soon, but I'm busy making myself a zoot suit comprised of print outs of all my down-voted posts on hacker news.
- elliekelly 7y agoDon't forget the part where you "assess whether it warrants an adaption"
- lacampbell 7y agoI'm perfectly comfortable with the internet not agreeing with me 100% of the time. Oh shit forgot to post this from my throwaway account
