  Here's what I'll say about fascism, it's a hateful, divisive "ideology", and the only people who bring up the "appealing aesthetics" are probably fascists themselves.

  European fascists appropriated aesthetics from ancient cultures intentionally. A mace and an Eagle as a symbol of office goes back thousands of years, which is mentioned in the article itself.
