What I don't understand is why they leave the app installed on the person's phone after the scan if it does not do any further scanning in the background.
- plussed_reader 7y agoI wouldn't be surprised if the app is a visa requirement while visiting.
- Florin_Andrei 7y agoSeems to me like carelessness / incompetence. One of the articles I've read on this topic suggested that in most cases they remove the app.
- helloindia 7y agoThe app is to monitor foreigners and the natives, while they're in Xinjiang. Deleting the app on just one scan would be defeating the purpose.
