Nepal has never been under Chinese rule and has never been claimed by China. Tibet was part of the Chinese empire before breaking away with the very interested help of the Brits, who did try to invade Nepal as well.
- philshem 7y agoPut another way, the region of China that shares a border with Nepal is not Mandarin speaking. Edit: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mandarin_and_Jin_in_China.png https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mandarin_and_Jin_in_...
- NotPaidToPost 7y agoIt is. Every time there is an article related to China on HN, it turns into an appalling display of ignorance and thin-veiled racism. Edit: The map you have added only proves my point that you are commenting in total ignorance in addition to being off topic and incorrect. The article is about a very normal and positive development, yet some people (who claim to be smart and educated) leave such nasty comments. Why?
- philshem 7y agoI scrolled through your comment history and see lots of grey text. Have a nice day!
- NotPaidToPost 7y agoHow a comment is received tells you a lot about the audience... Case in point: Your replies to my comments. It's a shame, really.
