This is similar to how my current position started. I was initially given a contract for 3 months. Not a probation period -- a contract that could be cancelled at any time by my employer. I left a very stable job to take this new role (cite: much more money and 100% remote). After 3 months, I was given a full-time role. I rolled the dice. I would do this again.
