I agree. Remove the phone will pay dividends. I started leaving my phone in my car after work and already I'm seeing benefits with my afternoon/evening. I'm able to get more done as well as have a full night's sleep. There's something about the phone that just keeps me distracted. So, I just don't bother with it.
