  Excellent book. Read it when I was 17. Although the latter parts are devoted almost entirely to the historical evidence for the theory of the Bicameral Mind. I'm no longer fully convinced that language and metaphor generates consciousness though.

      What would you say is the set of things that generate consciousness?
