Mechanicals are too loud for me most of the time, but I understand his point. I enjoy a quality keyboard. I've also never really liked the apple keyboards. It's nice to have some contour to your keys instead of just flat. Key layout is the thing that kills a keyboard for me more than anything. I've brought home a few keyboards just to find out when I was unwrapping it that the Insert and Delete key rows are goofy, or the arrow keys are all messed up.
