I'm not trying to criticize the OP. My point was that downvoting isn't a problem if people are pushing them up again. If a comment is sitting at zero and you are capable of pushing it to +1, then there isn't a problem yet, assuming the comment deserves to be at +1 (and in my opinion, +1 is a fair score for the first two). In other words, it's not worth complaining about downvotes until good comments are getting stuck in negative territory and you can't do anything about it. When that happens, I think that this is a discussion worth having. I don't think we're there yet. Argue the case of the downvotes I did, in my 2nd and 3rd paragraphs (the majority of what I wrote).
