Maybe your org is different, but the way your question is worded you are a lead developer, not a project manager. I'm a believer in flat orgs to some extent, but as a product owner/pm myself, this communication should be coming from the dev project manager, along with revised timeline and/or mitigation plan. The only alarm should be to your project manager, and in the form of objective analysis of the number of items completed against the plan.
- arwineap 8y agoTo add to this, maybe your PM can help by getting scope reduced, or additional QA resources. If they suggest more dev resources, be wary; that almost never speeds up project completion
