Just wondering what could be the reason many think lab grown meat is a food when no other food falls in that criteria. Haven't got any convincing point yet. Only some distracting ones which become clear on the second read. Is there any other lab grown thing that we have eaten?

Hydroponics comes to mind, replace soil with water, provide nutrients artificially, pretty similar really.
