Even in this thread, you can see more of the same insecurities. I personally think the Kübler-Ross model of grief is a surprisingly accurate model of this phenomenon. In general, I think we're still in the denial/anger phase, with a trend towards the latter. You can literally feel the seething anger just reading some of the comments here.
