There are some modified versions of CBT that some people use with more of a focus on mindfulness. There's one called DBT, dialectical behavior therapy. For me, this was like all the benefits of CBT but with a much easier way to get to there. Although, I'm not sure what the research evidence is like for DBT. But I definitely agree that CBT feels extremely similar to mindfulness. Mindfulness is just sort of another approach to the same end result, and certainly might not be the right approach for everyone.
