I'm a computer engineering major, but have a lot of overlap with the computer science track. We start with Intro to C, then move on to CS1 and CS2 which both deal almost exclusively with C and dig pretty deep into it. We have an OOP class that is Java-based, and an operating system class that is C-based. So yes, C is still taught.
